Public construction law
Peter Baumeister studied law and political science at the University of Mannheim. During his clerkship in Mannheim and Karlsruhe, he completed his doctorate on a subject regarding constitutional law. Until he received the postdoctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation), he was scientific assistant at the chair for public law, in particular administrative law and administrative procedural law, at the University of Mannheim (Prof. Dr. W.-R. Following his postdoctoral thesis on administrative law, the University of Mannheim authorized him in 2003 to teach the subjects public law, social law, and European law and granted him the title of adjunct professor in 2005. Today, he works in these fields as professor at the private, state-approved SRH University Heidelberg in the degree programs social law, commercial law, and social work.
He was admitted to the bar and joined the law firm in March 2007.
He is a member of the association of German constitutional law professors and lecturers (Vereinigung der Deutschen Staatsrechtslehrer), the association of social law professors and lecturers (Verband der Sozialrechtslehrer), and the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers (Deutscher Hochschulverband). His lectures include all fields of his authorization to teach; he is the author of expert reports mainly on questions regarding constitutional law, health law, and (commercial) administrative law. Since April 2015, he has also been chairperson of the board of arbitration Baden-Württemberg in acc. with § 76 of Volume XI of the German Social Security Code (Sozialgesetzbuch) (long-term care insurance).
