Successful in the Rhine-Neckar region for seven decades
Success is no coincidence; success has to do with experience—and we have plenty of that. Back in 1946, attorney Dr. Paul Schlatter laid the foundation for the law firm in Heidelberg that is now one of the most prominent commercial law firms in the Heidelberg and Mannheim area. The wealth of experience gained from seven decades of legal practice gives us a decisive edge time and again—and our clients benefit from this.
The founder: Dr. Paul Schlatter
The law firm was founded by Dr. Paul Schlatter (1905–1991) in 1946.
He had already passed his first state law exam at the age of 22 and subsequently obtained his doctorate. After a brief period working as a judge and deputy notary, he established himself as a lawyer in Heidelberg.
Dr. Paul Schlatter combined the qualifications of a lawyer and tax advisor in one person. As a result, the firm made a name for itself in tax consulting at an early stage, in addition to providing legal advice.
The recipient of the Federal Cross of Merit First Class and holder of the German Bar Association's Medal of Honor played a key role in reestablishing the Heidelberg Bar Association and served as its chairman from 1961 to 1981. From 1949 to 1972, he was a member of the board of the Karlsruhe Bar Association.
