Heiko Hofstätter studied in Mainz and Heidelberg. He completed his doctorate at Heidelberg University under Thomas Hillenkamp on a subject of criminal law related to medical liability law. During his clerkship, Heiko Hofstätter worked at the New York office of a large international law firm.

He joined SCHLATTER in June 2001. In addition to his work as attorney, Heiko Hofstätter received a second degree in political science writing his master’s thesis about the subject “advertising bans in the European Union” in 2002. In 2004, he switched to the Mannheim office of an international law firm and returned to SCHLATTER in the middle of May 2005.

As specialist attorney for banking and capital market law and member of the working group for banking and capital market law of the German Bar Association, Heiko Hofstätter works in the fields of banking law, law on securities, and capital market law and predominantly advises clients in the area of financial services and capital investments. Furthermore, Heiko Hofstätter has been appointed examinant by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Karlsruhe (IHK Karlsruhe) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Stuttgart Region (IHK Stuttgart) for conducting the expert knowledge exam for the appointment as examined financial adviser (Geprüfte(r) Finanzanlagenfachmann/-frau IHK).

As specialist lawyer for criminal law, another focus of his activity besides general criminal law is dealing with cases relating to the economic and fiscal offenses law as well as in the area of compliance.
