Alternative dispute resolution
a) In accordance with the Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO)
In case of disputes between attorneys and their clients, out-of-court dispute resolution is possible upon application with the regional bar association in Karlsruhe (in accordance with § 73 para. 2 no. 3 in conjunction with § 73 of BRAO) or with the arbitration board of the bar (Schlichtungsstelle der Rechtsanwaltschaft) (§ 191f of BRAO) of the German Federal Bar Association (Bundesrechtsanwaltskammer). b) In accordance with the Consumer Dispute Resolution Act (VSBG)
In accordance with § 37 of the Consumer Dispute Resolution Act (Verbraucherstreitbeilegungsgesetz (VSBG)), SCHLATTER is obligated to point out to clients who are consumers as defined by § 13 of the German Civil Code (BGB) the possibility to call a consumer arbitration board free of charge in case of unresolved monetary disputes resulting from the client-attorney relationship. In this case, the competent consumer arbitration board is Schlichtungsstelle der Rechtsanwaltschaft, Neue Grünstraße 17, D-10179 Berlin (www.schlichtungsstelle-der-rechtsanwaltschaft.de). However, we would like to point out in this context that SCHLATTER is neither willing nor obligated to participate in procedures before this board and that SCHLATTER will refuse participation in arbitration procedures before this board.
Multidisciplinary activities / cooperation
The stated partners have affiliated in the form of partnership for permanent practice.
In addition, the law firm maintains a permanent cooperation with WSB WOLF BECKERBAUER HUMMEL & PARTNER Steuerberatungsgesellschaft (tax consultants, Kurfürsten-Anlage 59, D-69115 Heidelberg) as well as with WSB TREUHAND GMBH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft (auditing company, Seckenheimer Landstraße 4, D-68162 Mannheim).
Pursuing conflicting interests is prohibited for attorneys on the basis of professional code of practice (§ 43a para. 4 BRAO). For this reason, we review if there is a conflict of interests prior to accepting mandates.
